Reports to: Pastor
Status: Part-Time, approximately 15 hours per week
Schedule: Regular on-site office hours with some flexibility
Compensation: $21–$24 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Position Summary
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (HTLCEaston.org), an ELCA congregation in North Easton, Massachusetts, is seeking a welcoming, organized, and technologically capable Part-Time Office Administrator to support our day-to-day life and ministry.
The Office Administrator will serve as an important point of connection among our Pastor, other part-time staff, congregation members, community partners, building users, neighbors, and the public. The position combines general office administration with communications, scheduling and recordkeeping, and support for the use of our church building.
The Administrator will work closely with the Pastor and coordinate as needed with other paid staff, including the Director of Music Ministry and Sexton, as well as with volunteer ministry leaders. We are looking for someone who can work independently, communicate clearly and warmly, and confidently use technology to organize information and get work done.
The specific mix of responsibilities may evolve based on the skills and interests of the successful candidate and the changing needs of the congregation as we discern new ministries and revitalize existing ones.
Primary Responsibilities
Office & Administrative Support
- Answer phone calls, monitor general email, greet visitors, and direct inquiries to the appropriate person.
- Receive and distribute mail and deliveries and assist with routine correspondence and mailings.
- Maintain the church calendar, contacts database, administrative records, and other office systems.
- Provide administrative support to the Pastor and coordinate routine needs with other staff and congregational leaders.
- Monitor and order office and church supplies.
Communications & Digital Support
- Coordinate and produce congregational newsletters, announcements, sermon mailings, and other email communications in collaboration with the Pastor and ministry leaders.
- Gather, edit, and organize submitted material, with attention to clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency.
- Prepare and print worship bulletins, inserts, and other materials.
- Maintain routine content on the church website and assist with social media communications.
- Depending on experience and interest, assist with basic graphics production and broader communications planning.
Building & Community Coordination
- Serve as a primary administrative contact for groups using the church building, including regular coordination with Bristol Trinity Episcopal Church, which shares space in our building and collaborates with Holy Trinity on worship, Christian education, and other programming.
- Coordinate scheduling, building-use agreements, insurance documentation, and related records in consultation with the Pastor and other congregational leaders.
- Track building-use fees and send invoices or reminders as needed.
- Coordinate routine communication with the Sexton, vendors, service providers, and building users.
Financial & Recordkeeping Support
- Receive and route invoices, reimbursement requests, receipts, and other financial paperwork.
- Maintain appropriate records and help ensure documentation moves through established review and approval processes, working with the Treasurer, Financial Secretaries, and congregational leadership as needed.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
- Strong written communication and editorial skills, including the ability to edit and organize material from multiple contributors into clear, polished communications.
- Strong general technology skills and confidence learning and working with a variety of web-based systems. Familiarity with Google Workspace (including Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets) or comparable productivity platforms is expected.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple ongoing responsibilities and deadlines.
- A welcoming and professional manner and the ability to communicate effectively with congregation members, volunteers, community partners, vendors, and the public.
- The ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, follow through on tasks, and handle confidential information appropriately.
Experience with church, nonprofit, or community-based administration is helpful but not required. Familiarity with WordPress, Mailchimp, social media platforms, Canva or other basic design tools, databases, or digital media is also a plus. We do not expect candidates to have experience with every system we use, and training will be provided on Holy Trinity’s specific tools and procedures.
Schedule
This is a part-time position of approximately 15 hours per week. Regular on-site office hours are an important part of the position, with some flexibility in scheduling and limited remote work possible by agreement with the Pastor.

to build community with diverse people and to nurture creation.
Holy Trinity is celebrating its 10th anniversary as a Reconciling in Christ congregation, committed to welcoming people of all races, ethnicities, cultures, ages, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, abilities, socioeconomic circumstances, and places on their faith journey.
In addition to weekly worship, Holy Trinity has a close partnership with Bristol Trinity Episcopal Church, which shares office and worship space in our building. Our ministries also include partnerships with Father Bill’s & MainSpring and School on Wheels of Massachusetts to support people experiencing homelessness; our annual Transgender Day of Remembrance & Celebration; the Red Rose campaign supporting the Rose Conservatory after-school music program in Brockton; and environmental ministries coordinated by our Green Team.
The Office Administrator does not need to be Lutheran or a member of Holy Trinity but should be comfortable working in a progressive Christian environment and supporting the mission and inclusive welcome of the congregation.
