Community Involvement

Serving the Needs of Others

Holy Trinity is taking active steps to create change in the world, with a focus on meaningful work right here in southeastern Massachusetts.

Working for Justice

Led by the example of Jesus, we work toward a world in which all people are treated with dignity and respect and are valued as precious children of God. We embrace people on the margins and lift up victims of inequity and injustice. We feed those who are hungry and support children who are homeless. We shed light on and support those who suffer – from those who are transgender to Palestinians who feel imprisoned in their own homeland.

Caring for the Environment

We celebrate the beauty of all God created in the beginning and we lament our planet crying out for mercy. From our pollinator garden to our recycling program to our educational efforts we are passionate about cleaning and healing the environment God so delightfully made. We welcome hikers and explorers to our wooded forest and our outdoor labyrinth brings solace and peace.

Celebrating the Arts

We give thanks to God through a devotion to creating a flourishing arts program from vocal choirs, bell choirs and chimes for children and adults to lessons on the piano and organ. A drumming circle fills the halls with vibrant sound. Art projects welcome all ages and abilities. Recitals bring in the community, and instrumental and vocal soloists and groups enhance our worship.

Get outside

Trails departing from Holy Trinity’s Lincoln Street location connect to miles of additional hiking opportunities on conservation land in North Easton. We welcome the public to enjoy our open space. Come on by!

Developing Community Relationships

It’s all about collaboration! We are stronger together so HTLC purposefully partners with community organizations who are committed to creating, as the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr would say, the beloved community – a community that brings out the best of its citizens, beautifies the environment, and works hard for justice and equality so that all of God’s children can thrive together.

Community Partners

Rose Conservatory

HTLC partners with this wonderful organization whose purpose is to transform the lives of children through the power of music. The conservatory serves children from the Brockton school district enriching their lives through the performing arts, teaching them discipline, and giving them direction and purpose so that they may become skilled musicians, dedicated scholars, and compassionate leaders.

School on Wheels

Did you know that in 2021 Massachusetts public schools identified 24,000 students impacted by homelessness? Did you know that the average age of a homeless person in Massachusetts is 8? HTLC supports SOWMA through financial gifts and labors of love like collecting and packing backpacks for children of all ages who are experiencing homeless. SOWMA also provides tutoring and prepares high school students for college.

Raising Multicultural Kids

An educational based non-profit organization located in Southeastern Massachusetts focused on cultivating racial and cultural competence in local communities.  Their mission is to provide individuals  with a  multicultural mindset, which celebrates differences and fosters the skills and tools necessary to take action on issues of equity.

Father Bill’s/Mainspring

Father Bill’s/Mainspring in Brockton, MA is committed to transforming how the community responds to homelessness by not only providing a safe refugee for those without homes but even more importantly playing a key role in transitioning those currently homeless to permanent housing. We help along the way by providing a weekly lunch and a monthly dinner to those who gather at Father Bill’s. Lunches are made weekly at HTLC by a group of volunteers, and dinners are made in people’s homes and then collected and delivered.

Warren Nylen
Memorial Labyrinth

The community is welcome to enjoy our beautiful labyrinth anytime. Follow the path and immerse yourself in reflection, meditation and prayer as a welcome pause in the busyness of daily life. The labyrinth is located in the front of the education wing. Feel free to park along the driveway or in the back parking lot.

In October, 2023, the Labyrinth was the site of “Gun Tragedies : Memorial Stones : 2023,” a public art installation highlighting the massive toll of gun violence in American communities.

The Pollinator Garden Project

In the spring of 2021, several parishioners began a pollinator garden to provide nectar and pollen for monarch butterflies, bees, moths and other insects. In the spring of 2022, the garden was moved to a more sunny spot along the driveway. The old garden is being converted to a milkweed bed, thereby giving monarch caterpillars the only food they eat. Monarch butterflies from the Northeast migrate to Michoacán, Mexico every fall. They are in great decline because of the loss of habitat for milkweed, the overuse of herbicides and climate change.

Native plants growing here: black-eyed Susan, butterfly weed, coreopsis, geranium, goldenrod, lobelia cardinalis, lobelia siphilitica, mountain mint, obedient plant (false dragonhead) and yarrow. Some annuals were planted to fill in the space until the native plants expand. More perennials will be added, too.
